APPALACHIAN KAYAK SUMMER CAMP

Appalachian Kayak Summer Camp is a fun, outdoor experience for kids. 

• For kids age 8-15
• Sibling discounts
• 12:2 Camper to Counselor Ratio
• Kayaking every day
• Daily parent drop-off and pick-up
• 8:30-3:30

Campers will learn basic kayak skills and water safety and get to try both single and tandem kayaks on calm, nearby waterways. We will also learn a little about local history, wildlife and ecology.  Activities will be chosen based on both weather and campers’ interests and may include fishing, crafts, games and swimming. Kayaks, paddles and life vests will be provided.

2026 Dates

Week 1: July 20-24 $295 at Millerstown Community Park

Week 2: July 27-30 $315 at Fort Halifax Park

For Week 1, complete and submit the Registration Form and Medical Authorization Form

For Week 2, please register through Hampden Township Parks and Recreation website

Dear Parents,

Your child’s health and safety is a top priority!  My staff and I are trained in first aid and have all necessary clearances.  Campers will frequently be reminded to hydrate and reapply sunscreen.  In the event of thunderstorms, we will move the fun to a sheltered location.  Kayaking locations will be chosen based on safe water conditions. Medical information/authorization forms are required for registration.

I am excited to combine my experience as a school counselor and my love for kayaking, kids, and all things outdoors!
